The artist formerly known as Donnelly Group will soon be opening two new Sing Sing Beer Bar locations following a financial restructuring of the business.

The group recently sold off some of its assets, including Toronto’s garden patio-style pub, Death & Taxes, and Yaletown’s Hello Goodbye bar.

“These are all high-quality, beloved locations and although we’ll miss their  community, each will be better served with new ownership,” says Harrison Stoker, Donnelly Group’s chief growth officer, in a release. “We have a renewed strategic vision, as well as a commitment to our staff and guests to exit CCAA and shift full focus back onto our passion for hospitality.” 

Sing Sing Beer Bar is known for its eclectic food and drink offerings, including pizza, pho, and cocktails. The new locales will get new features, such as a weekend brunch menu along with curated natural wines.

Under the group’s new name, Freehouse Collective, the two Sing Sing Beer Bars will open cross-country locations: one on Vancouver’s Commercial Drive, and the other at Toronto's First Canadian Place.

“Recognizing that this news may read as a contradiction, our relentless focus and ‘shrink to grow’ mindset over the last year is setting up to pay off,” says Stoker in the release. “Sing Sing is a fan favourite, so we’re excited to have new partners and communities to house the brand.” 

Freehouse Collective also has Yaletown’s Isabelle’s, Gastown’s The Lamplighter and Clough Club, and downtown’s The Ballyhoo under its ownership—plus Barber & co. barbershops and Bomber Brewing craft brewery.
