A handful of B.C. companies made the top 10 list of new products at this year’s Grocery and Speciality Food West, the country’s biggest B2B grocery trade show and conference now taking place at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Selected by a panel of judges, they include:

      - Paracanna, for its Zen Zingers Cannabis Gummy Candy Making Kit in the Best Specialty category.

The kit allows people to make gummies using their own cannabis oil (purchased from a legal source) at home in under 10 minutes (plus the time it takes for the candies to set in the fridge or freezer), meaning people can control the dose and know that the edibles are safe to consume. The kits come in four flavours: Mega Mango, Punchy Pink Grapefruit, Cherry Bomb, and Righteous Raspberry.

      - Salt Spring Kitchen Co., for its sweet, savoury, and spicy preserves in the Best Local/Made in Canada category. Among the company’s products are Tandoori Chutney, Blueberry & Basil Jam, Charcuterie Mustard, and Raspberry Habanero Jam.

      - West Vancouver-based McLean Meats’, for its organic, gluten-free beef and turkey lasagnas in the Best Frozen category.

Among the other products to crack the top 10 were Ontario’s Burnbrae Farms’ Eggs2go! Omega-3 6pk Resealable Pouch Hard Boiled & Peeled Eggs (Best Convenience); MadeGood Foods’ granola bites, bars, and cereals (Best Snack); and Nando’s PERInaise (a hot sauce, for Best Sauce/Condiment).
