Lez be honest.

I am having such a hard time meeting lesbian friends! For the record- I'm queer and not just trying to fill my friends list with a diverse group of lesbians. I've been to events, I've used tinder for platonic reasons, I've tried to use other social media platforms to meet people ( not my first choice). Starting to feel lost Any suggestions? Queer and lonely

The majority of lesbians in this city are clique-y and if you don't know the "right" people or follow along with their bullshit politics, you're not going to get far.

I totally understand

Using the W4W section of Craigslist is sketchy because so many guys pretend to be females or there are wo/men looking for a unicorn.

BUT there is a locally-based site called Superdyke....
also, does OKCupid have a Friends option?

I met a woman at Earthdance who I think is probably gay and I would have liked to become friends with her, but I didn't have the means to take down her contact info and felt a little awkward to ask.

Definitely going to LGBT events (not just the dances) is a good way.
There is a Queer Women book club that's based out of the Qmunity Centre on Bute by Davie. (There is a Queer Men's one as well, for any guys reading this)

i have to say as a straight man i still feel the same as you are. The more we connect online the less in real life and there no way that makes up for the loss...
finding love in Vancouver is almost impossible in the last ten years. i feel for you and wish you all the luck in finding what your looking for!

What are you into?

I'm lesbian as well a tomboy/dyke/queer too BUT here's the zinger that makes it extra hard for me......I'm a transwomen with penis & unfortunately I can't afford time off work to fly to Montreal for the full surgery (plus I'm in my 50's) that makes it more difficult for me because as far as I know lesbians want other lesbians to have vaginas (I know I want to meet lesbians with vaginas not penises so maybe I'm too picky) & no lesbian I've met hasn't been interested in me

I'm a queer/lesbian/dyke woman myself & I find it very hard & here's the zinger......I'm a transwoman who's started transitioning earlier this year (January) in her 50's with a penis which makes it extremely hard to meet or connect with other lesbians & I just cannot afford the time off work to fly all the way to Montreal for the full surgery, I also believe lesbians want other lesbians to have vaginas (maybe I'm making assumptions but that's what I gather) & I'm not considered woman enough & yes I guess I want to date lesbians/queer women with vaginas as well too (so maybe I am too picky).
So it is tough & discouraging.
