There seems to be more hikers with bear spray there than on the trails. Is crime out of control at Metrotown or something? Every 2nd day, I hear something about bear spray at metrotown in the news.

Metrotown has changed…BIG TIME. It’s certainly not what it was years ago.

I can throw a ball off my patio and hit the mall, go there every day, and haven't heard any of this.
Also the spray is a small canister, am also in the park all the time, and have never seen it dangling off people's hips.

I live in Burnaby and was just at Metrotown yesterday and everything was fine.

Back in the 90's truckers running loads out to Metrotown in the evening from a warehouse I worked at were talking about problems with gangster kids. It's probably a time of day thing.
