The woman accused of burning the Pride flag at UBC in February made her first appearance in a Richmond court today (April 26).

Brooklyn Marie Fink is charged with one count of mischief under $5,000.

The Pride Collective at UBC discovered on February 9 that the rainbow flag, raised for their OUTweek celebrations, had been burned on the student flagpole.

Fink requested the charge be dismissed and told Daily Xtra that the matter should be dealt with between the student and the school.

Her dismissal application, however, was not accepted. She has been scheduled to appear before a judge on May 17.

She told press that LGBT politics have ruined her life as she has been trying to live her life as a woman, rather than as a trans woman.
