To shower or not two shower

The Robert Lee Downtown YMCA installed new shower heads. Fellow members: if you don't like them, go shower at home. At least you have two showers. Some people have none. Stop taking up valuable pool space with nothing else to do Other than stand around and complain about "not enough water."

We don't need to conserve water in Vancouver...go up to the reservoir and take a look it's like Niagara Falls as they have the gates wide open for months to get rid of the overflow...it's a political scam to eventually charge you for water in one of the wettest cities on earth.

How did the reservoir and kilometres of pipelines get built? With money. How did the gov't get money? By charging people for water.

This is pretty much correct---but afaik they already do meter water for places like the Robert Lee YMCA, so they will install things like terrible showerheads. I didn't know the situation could get worse. In the normal men's room, only half of the showers were ever usable, the rest had either no pressure or no heat. And of the half that were usable, IIRC one had a bum head.

I liked the RL YMCA when I could go in the morning, went once in the afternoon when it was full of bros, had at least 2 of them try to pick fights instead of waiting politely for equipment.

It's about conserving energy, less so water. We get it that USUALLY it isn't in short supply.

If you pay for a service, do you not expect to receive value for your money?

You're complaining about complainers, who haven't asked you for a cent and owe you nothing.

If I pay for a service, I expect value for money. RL people pay about $70 per month for the use of an entire facility. They want gold-plated shower heads, too? The RL has asked me for money, which I pay every month. So, they owe me something. Notably, a positive atmosphere because people are healthier in a positive atmosphere than a negative one. The RL is not a country club. It is a health facility. It is a rehabilitative facility. If people want to use up valuable exercise space, which I and others have paid for, complaining and swearing, occupy the appropriate space -- like a bar.

A lot of low-flow shower heads are simply nonfunctional. They're the sort of thing that if someone put one into a CEO's house making seven figures, he'd go "DO IT AGAIN!" But plebs, they're expected to make do with low pressure.

If the CEO says, "Do it again!" Perhaps the CEO is paying the installer an amount that allows this to happen. If a CEO plunked down a $10,000 CAN cheque on the front desk of the RL YMCA, and said, "Do it again!" They probably would be happy to comply. And, when certain people are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for their cars, which is for their own occasional, individual, personal use, why not ante up for something that can benefit hundreds of people daily?
