Just wait for it to hit

I wonder how many people are sitting in Vancouver whether employed or not, saying to themselves hmmm I wonder how long I can manage to live here? Because it seems that once the crisis hits it is going to become more and more difficult.... how long can people afford to live like this? Will crime increase or not?... will there be a sudden crisis next year or will government action be enough to stop this? If you are going to leave I suggest getting ahead of the crowds and doing it within the year. Something tells me things are only going to get worse for most of us at least for a while.

Yes...with the NDP in control things will get increasingly worse.

Chicago has had 374 murders so far in 2018....your rent going up $20.00 a year isn't really a "crisis"...just sayin.

What crisis are you talking about? Rental affordability and lack of housing? It’s the worst in Vancouver but I have family in the rest of bc and it’s difficult everywhere.

Yes, you're right

Even if you have an affordable place in Vancouver it is usually less than idea; too small or noise issues with neighbors. There is a trade-off to avoid the snowy cold winter elsewhere. And if you have an affordable rent you are trapped where you are as landlords jack up rents big time everytime someone move out.

I'll get the waterfront property I always wanted.
Then I'll go sailing in the golf of Richmond.
So many possibilities!
