Enough with “bonus points” already

I get tired of reading profiles of dating sites where people try to manipulate you with “bonus points.” Since when did online dating turn into a fucking game show? I have a much better idea. If you want to date me so much, then how about bonus points for not being a self-absorbed stuck up, appalling piece of shit?

I can understand why this pushes your buttons. But in the minds of the people using this phrase, they probably think they are being fun and playful. I highly doubt that manipulation is their intention, and it is not fair to assume malicious intent when it may not be there.

Get out of the house. Play sports. Volunteer. etc etc etc.
And when out- don't sit there frowning with your arms crossed, I see this ALL the time.

I think you have a point, but personal ads are inherently problematic. If you post one, what are you supposed to do, lead a bunch of people on until you decide (hopefully) to 'get serious' with one of them? How long are you going to string along the rest? And if you're responding to a personal ad, then you're going to be one of those people being led on unless you happen to be the 'lucky' chosen one. Either way it's messy BS, don't do it...

Just keep on swiping left if you see these type of profiles. Don't let childish people like that get you down. Ain't got no time for any of that nonsense. Their loss, not yours. Who needs them. Life goes on.
