Canada's reigning female tennis superstar will not advance to the semifinals of the China Open.

That's because Bianca Andreescu lost a hard-fought battle today against Japan's Naomi Osaka.

It snapped a 17-match Andreescu winning streak.

The 19-year-old came from behind to take the first set 7-5. But Osaka, 21, came charging back to win the second and third sets 6-3 and 6-4.

In 2019, Andreescu won the U.S. Open—a year after Osaka triumphed in that tournament.

Osaka also won the 2019 Australian Open.
